State of New York, 1957 Professional experience Mr. Nemia joined Coughlin & Gerhart, L.L.P. in 1999 and is currently Of Counsel with the firm. With over 50 years of experience in labor and employment law and litigation, Mr. Nemia was founder, first chairman and is Chair of the Past Chairs Advisory Committee and Chair Emeritus of the Section on Labor and Employment Law of the New York State Bar Association. He is an appointed member of the committee on the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act of the American Bar Association's Section on Labor and Employment Law. Since 1987, he has been named in all editions of The Best Lawyers in America. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Law at Binghamton University, where he taught for over 30 years. Mr. Nemia's labor and employment law clients include: Penguin Group (USA) Inc., E*Trade Bank, Avery-Dennison Corporation, Doron Precision Systems, Inc., WSKG Public Telecommunications Council, the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce, the Broome County, NY Association of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors, Inc., the Southern Tier Mechanical Contractor’s Association, Inc. and various towns and municipalities. He continues as Chairman of the Broome County Bar Association's Ethics Committee for over 20 years and has served on the House of Delegates and as Chairman of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Specialization in the Law, Chairman of the Broome Chamber of Commerce, President of the Binghamton University Foundation, President of the Binghamton University Alumni Association and President of the Broome County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Mr. Nemia has received the Glenn G. Bartle Distinguished Service Award from Binghamton University, the Broome County Bar Association’s Community Service Award and the “Person of the Year” Award from the Broome County Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors. |
